Bryan Weingarten Elected to Wheeler Opera House Advisory Council

Bryan Weingarten has been elected to serve a three-year term beginning in 2025 on the Wheeler Opera House Advisory Council, supporting one of Aspen’s most significant and enduring civic institutions. The Wheeler Opera House is a city-owned, multi-use landmark that has played a central role in Aspen’s cultural life for more than a century.

Located at the corner of East Hyman Avenue and South Mill Street, the Wheeler Opera House dates back to the late 1800s and was the first property in Aspen to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Through careful preservation and thoughtful restoration, it has remained an active and vibrant venue, hosting a wide range of performances—from nationally recognized music and comedy acts to community-based productions and educational events. Today, the Wheeler continues to serve residents, visitors, and artists alike while preserving its historic character and architectural significance.

Bryan Weingarten’s appointment reflects a shared commitment to institutional stewardship, long-term viability, and community engagement. The Advisory Council plays an important role in supporting the Wheeler’s mission to preserve the historic venue while ensuring it remains a dynamic cultural asset for the Roaring Fork Valley. Bryan brings a perspective grounded in continuity, collaboration, and respect for institutions that serve the public good.

As the Wheeler Opera House continues to set the stage for performances, connection, and shared cultural experiences, Bryan Weingarten’s service on the Advisory Council represents a thoughtful contribution to the ongoing care and future of one of Aspen’s most important landmarks.
